How to extract attachments from .msg files
Saved emails are often kept for what they carry: an invoice, a contract, a scan. Here's how to get the attachments out, from one email or a folder of them.

In Outlook
Open the .msg file in Outlook for Windows, right-click an attachment, and choose Save As or Save All Attachments. It works one email at a time.
Without Outlook, from many emails at once
- Open Extract attachments.
- Drop one .msg file, several, or a ZIP of them.
- See every attachment found, including those inside emails attached to other emails.
- Download them one by one, or all at once in a zip with a folder per email.
One email up to 2 MB is free; many at once need a pass. Files can be renamed by the email's date and sender, so names never clash. It works with .eml and winmail.dat files too, and the emails are opened in your browser, so we never see them.
Attachments stuck in winmail.dat
If the email shows winmail.dat instead of files, the winmail.dat opener gets them out.
