How to save an Outlook email as PDF
Outlook can print an email to PDF, but it leaves the attachments out and repeats every reply in a thread. Here's how to do it either way.

Option 1: Print to PDF in Outlook
Every version of Outlook can print an email to a PDF file:
- Outlook for Windows: open the email, choose File, then Print, pick Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer, and click Print.
- New Outlook and Outlook on the web: open the email, choose Print from the three dots menu, then pick Save as PDF as the printer.
- Outlook for Mac: open the email, choose File, then Print, and pick Save as PDF from the PDF menu.
This is fine for a short email. But the attachments are not included, long threads repeat every earlier reply, and wide emails can be cut off at the edge of the page.
Option 2: Keep the attachments and a clean layout
- In Outlook, save the email as a file: drag it onto your desktop, or choose Save as.
- Drop the file into the MSG to PDF converter.
- Check the free preview of the first page.
- Download the PDF, named after the email's date and subject: free up to 2 MB, or unlock it with a pass.
PDF and image attachments are added as pages after the email, and other files download alongside. Threads become one clean entry per message, oldest first, and text stays selectable and searchable.
Saving many emails as PDF
Select the emails in Outlook for Windows and drag them into a folder: each one is saved as a .msg file. Then drop the folder into batch MSG to PDF to get one merged PDF in date order, or a PDF for each email.
Keeping it private
Emails often hold contracts, payslips and personal details. Our converter works in your browser, so the email is turned into a PDF on your own device, and we never see it.
