How to save an email as a PDF on iPhone

iPhone Mail can save any email as a PDF through its Print screen. Here's how, and what to do when you need the attachments too.

Updated 2 November 2026 · 2 min read

In iPhone Mail

  1. Open the email in Mail.
  2. Tap the Reply arrow at the bottom, then Print.
  3. On the Print Options screen, tap the Share button at the top.
  4. Choose Save to Files, pick a folder, and tap Save.

On older versions of iOS, pinch out on the page preview to open the PDF, then tap Share.

What's left out

The PDF shows the email itself. Its attachments aren't included, and a long thread repeats every earlier reply.

With the attachments, from a .msg or .eml file

If you have the email as a .msg or .eml file, our converter makes a PDF with PDF and image attachments added as pages, and a thread as one entry per message. It works in Safari, and we never see your email.
